Note From Yvonne

September 18, 2003 Note From Yvonne

Dear Readers,
Right now I’m in Sweden and I love it. The food is great, the weather is great and I love it all. I especially like the people’s history. They were Vikings. There were even people from the Stone Age but the most famous people were the Vikings. It’s really awesome Viking things are everywhere; old stones here, an ancient Viking king’s tomb there, Viking things everywhere. Most of all I liked the Vikings history and here it is. The Vikings were ruthless coast robbers of Holland, Germany and England. But they weren’t just ruthless robbers, they had a culture no one could forget.

They had amazing stone carvings and structures and they were the best sailors in the world for centuries. Although the Vikings were cool I think the best part of Sweden is the ancient ruins. For example at the top of a hill on the southern coast of Sweden there is a structure made of about 20 boulders put into the shape Vikings ship. This is called Ales Stenar. Then there is bronze age kings tomb built over 3000 years ago 75 X 65 meters long and wide, all made of millions of stones made into mound. All in all I think Sweden is my favorite country.
